100 Watt 2304 MHZ
CW Transmitter

This conversion, was relatively straight-forward, and reasonably easy to implement. I wanted something
consistent for CW mode operations on 2304 Mhz, and then I saw this unit, and figured I could change the
frequency and put it where I wanted.

The unit is manufactured by Opthos Inc. I tried contacting them and getting a schematic for "their" unit, they
didn't want to talk to me, because I said I was an "Amateur Radio Operator! Well having had some design
experience with UHF and Microwave systems, I decided to "Buzz" the unit out and draw up a schematic, and
then dig into the unit and move the frequency. The magnatron in the unit did not cover the 2304 Mhz range, so
I looked around in my "Junque Box" and dug out some old samples I acquired when I was doing this stuff for
a living, as I seemed to recall getting a "Maggie" that did cover the "Ham" frequencies as a sample. Sure enough
it was still there and wrapped carefully, just waiting to be used.

I popped it into place and using a borrowed spectrum analyzer got it centered at 2304 Mhz. I then had to come
up with a way to do the CW keying of the unit.

Next I needed a different 2304 antenna system then my little HB beam, so I figured why not a pair of "QUAD"
2304 helical antenna systems. That is four antennas each for transmit and receive. Home Depot came in handy
there as almost everything I needed was available there. Here is a single antenna.

I had to make two bracket assembly pieces to hold four of the antennas, and also come up with a four-way
power divider and a combiner for receive. I have to get the drawing scanned in so I can post them here.
