My dealings with Military equipment, probably comes from, as most hams, the good old
days when "Surplus Equipment" was a quick and cheap way to get on the air. I have always
preferred the "Big Iron" concept in radios, so getting items that were rack mounted was not a
problem for me. While there are pros and cons to this subject, I think it is a matter of the guys
taste and ability to become a "Heavy Lifter" in the radio game.

So keeping that in mind these are some of the "Big Iron" rigs I have managed to acquire for the
WB2FCN radio station. Some of them you may recognize, others maybe not, but please note if
you have a desire to explore all of the available frequencies, the Government, and more to the
point, the Military has already done most of the development for you so you should be able to
get on just about any frequency or mode that you desire, by using some of the equipments
listed here!
